FAQ
What is Tokyo Unseen?
Tokyo Unseen is an English-language curated guide to Tokyo's hidden corners — neighborhoods, cafes, jazz kissa, speakeasies, sento, bookstores, and other local experiences. Every spot is hand-selected by an editor who has lived in Asakusa for 15 years.
How is this different from Tokyo Cheapo or Time Out Tokyo?
Tokyo Cheapo focuses on budget tactics; Time Out covers mainstream picks. Tokyo Unseen is for the pre-trip research phase: discovering neighborhoods and themes (jazz kissa, shitamachi, vintage shopping) you wouldn't find through generic search.
Are the recommendations sponsored?
No. Spots are selected for being interesting, not for sponsorship. Booking links to Klook, GetYourGuide, and Booking.com are affiliate links, but affiliate relationships do not influence which spots appear here.
Who runs this site?
Asakusa Boy — an editor based in Tokyo who has lived in Asakusa for 15 years. Contact: gogogosaitogo@gmail.com.
